So Incredibly Happy
A simple Facebook status or one little video sure can turn my attitude around.
I get on Facebook to see a status by boyfriend, saying how incredibly happy he is to be in a relationship with me, someone who "is willing and able to love unconditionally." That has to be one of the greatest compliments I've ever received. It sure does top the classic "you're beautiful" compliment that still sits up on the pedestal of most teenage girls. Not only does he tell me (and the rest of the world I might add) that I'm beautiful, but that he sees and appreciates the effort I put forth into this relationship, because I love him. As my creative spirit teacher says, "Words struggle to define moments that can never be expressed" and I could type til my fingers bleed and still not be able to explain to you the love I have for him, and he has for me.
Then, there was the video that made me cry...seriously. It was made by my friend Ari and I got so emotional for several different reasons. One is that she is an amazing talent. In my eyes she's already mastered photography in her own style but recently she's been embarking on film. Every video gets better than the last and this one...was so her. It was simple and beautiful. The second reason it made me cry is because it reminded me of the friends I forgot. After some choices that I made, I got hurt by people that I thought were close to me. Assuming that everyone felt the same way they did, I kind of retreated. Watching that video reminded me that there are so many people and memories that I threw away or missed out on because I was afraid of being judged when, really, I haven't even given them a chance. That video reminded me that I can't afford to miss out on those memories anymore. It was a nice and well-needed vacation, but it's time to come out of hiding.
I'm so excited for what's to come.
By the way, here's the video: The Gypsy Museum

Fool Of Me
Sitting here listening to that song...on my six month anniversary. I honestly can't believe that I've already spent half a year with this man, this amazing man. When I look back at that night, five in the morning, sitting on a picnic table that is no longer there, I had no idea that we still would be. Not to say that I thought we weren't going to last, it's just I didn't know what to think. Never had I fallen in love so completely, so quickly! I was scared. Sometimes I still am, just not for the same reasons. Before I was scared because I'm not really one to be open about my emotions and I just felt so vulnerable around him all the time! On one hand I just wanted to step back and take a breath and on the other I didn't mind suffocating if it meant that I didn't have to leave his side. Now I'm scared of ever losing that, ever losing him. Trust me, there have been times where I thought for sure I had lost him...but he just makes a fool of me every time. Proving to me that love is truly unconditional. So many others would have left me long ago, and you know what, I wouldn't have blamed them. But this one is different. This one is special. This one is mine, forever and always.
